About this Garden Plan

FIRST THINGS FIRST, SORRY FOR ANY SPELLING ISSUES. MY KEYBOARD IS KIND OF MESSED UP A BIT SO TYPING IS A LITTLE DIFFICULT. For the first gaden in the top left, i have my successive vegetable garden and for that i have Kale which would grow first from about the beginning of April to the end of May. Then I have Carrots which would grow from about beginning of June to the end of July. Finally, I have Broccoli which would grow from about Mid-August to beginning of November. For the second garden in the bottom left, i have my fruit garden and for the fruit garden i have Strawberries, Kiwi, Cherries, and Apples. For the Strawberries, the pests to look out for would be slugs and to deal with slugs you can put down a layer of straw mulch or (like we talked about in class) beer. Another pest to look out for would be birds and those can be dealt with simply by putting a lightweight cloth over the crop. For the Kiwi, the pests would be Japanese beetles which can be collected by placing sheets beneath plants, shaking the plant and then destroying any fallen beetles in a hot bucket of soapy water. For the Cherries, the pest would be bids, which again, can be dealt with by putting a lightweeight netting over the crop. Another pest would be If there are holes in the trunk which leak a gummy substance or sawdust-like frass, the culprit is probably a borer or beetle to kill this pest, poke a needle into the hole. For the Apples, I really couldnt find anything, but I probably just wasnt looking hard enough. For the last garden in the bottom right, it is my Scientific Companion Vegetable garden. The 2 main crops in this gardden would be the Corn and the Tomato. For the Beans, they provide the soil with nitrogen but they also act as a trap crop for the Corn prtoecting it from some of the pests which go after the Corn. The Dill also acts as a trap crop for the Tomato protecting it from some of the pests that go after the Tomato. I think I ran out of characters. :(
