Sow and Plant

Notes

Use fine mesh or exclusion netting over the warmer months to prevent butterflies laying eggs on the underside of leaves - caterpillars can destroy these plants.

Harvesting

Wait until a few light frosts have passed to harvest, because cool weather enhances the sweet flavour of cabbage.

Troubleshooting

Heavy rains following dry weather can cause heads to split.
