11/11/2013 -- Planted 3 rows of Territorial seed Coriander Santo (Cilantro) in HI. There is still an existing row of arugula.
11/10/13 -- Planted 9 1/2 rows of Territorial Seed Spinach Space Hybrid in Bed B. Planted older Burpee Heirloom Carrot Touchon in between Spinach rows in 1/2 of bed B, starting at border of Row D and going just past the middle of bed B. Planted Territorial Seed Parsley Dark Green Italian Plain in Bed B in between spinach rows from mid bed to the end of the bed facing Ron's.
11/8/2013 -- Dakota beans planted on 10/19 are up about 4 inches. Daytime temps mid 70s and night time temps 40s. Other recently planted veggies are up an inch or two. Green tomatoes on vines about 1" in diameter. They were not planted but reseeded.
11/8/2013 -- Harvested approximately 50 cups of green beans to date. Still producing. The purple velour and yellow soleil are both good but not great. Next year buy twice as much Denver and Nickle instead, which had an excellent harvest, taste great, no bugs or disease, germinated excellent, and easy to harvest.
10/26/13 -- Planted Yellow Sweet Spanish Onion closest to fence in K3 & K4. Planted American Flag Leeks in K1 & K2 closest to fence.
10/25-10/26 -- Harvested and Froze Beans. Nickle had a much bigger harvest that the other 3 purchased (Denver, Soleil, & Velour).
10/20/2013 -- Planted Cabbage -- Organic Hybrid Kraut Bled in roughly 3 rows in I1 through I5. In same beds planted Onions - Red Bull Hybrid on North close to irrigation pipe and Mustang hybid on south side of beds along that irrigation pipe. Did not plant Mustang in bed I2 because less seed and that bed still has some peppers in it.
10/19/2013 -- Planted Dakota peas in bed A after sweet potatoes pulled.
Sweet potatoes really took off with green leafs, but potatoes were less than expected. They taste very good, though. Canned 12 quarts for pies and completely filled potato bin with ones too big to can. Also have another dozen in a basket.
10/19/13 -- The green beans are doing very well. Already harvested 4 quarts plus more eaten fresh.
Cucumber Planted July 4th. From Farmer's Market Vendor. Label Says: An ASS Gold Metal winner in 1935, Stright 8 is still popular toda as it is early and highly productive. Prolific, straight, smooth & uniform. Dark green 8 in. fruits. Mosaic resistant. 64 days. These did not come up.
Planted August 31st: Beds C White New Zealand Clover (Territorial Seed), F1 Beets around perimeter (Farmer's Market). Left center for Oct planting of Kohlrabi, F2 Celery (Territorial Seed) in middle, F3 and F4 Broccoli (Farmer's Market) in long rows and Celery on short ends, I Celery in middle. Parsnips (Territorial Seed) in G4, leaving room for parsley and borage perenial. Need to order more beets and celery (not sure when to plant celery as conflicting info, so will plant each mo Aug-Oct to see which does best. Territorial Seed purchased for this year.
